Douglas was raised in a family of construction workers. The youngest of five brothers, his father put him in the seat of a backhoe at 14 and he has been running heavy equipment ever since. His beginnings in trade took him from one piece of equipment to the next, always improving his skills. When he left the family business, he also raised in the ranks of responsibilities, such as being a Superintendent running projects in the millions.

Douglas was offered an opportunity in 2013 that he couldn't pass up. He became an Operator Trainer for a Caterpillar Dealer (AKA Cat) where he served clients across three states.
